Chefs On The Reef - The Sebel Reef House and Spa , Palm Cove Nth Queensland
Rick Stein Guy Grossi Stefano Manfredi Stefani de Pieri Geoff Lindsay The fantastic 'Chefs On The Reef' series began with Rick Stein from Cornwall, followed by Guy Grossi and Stefano Manfredi sharing their cooking secrets, entertaining the room and preparing memorable meals at The Sebel Reef House. This exciting series has continued with other culinary greats including Mildura's own Stefano de Pieri and Geoff Lindsay of Pearl restaurant, Christine Manfield, Luke Mangan, Manu Fieldel from Bilson's and George Calombaris from The Press Club.

PAST EVENTS

The Great Barrier Feast - Hamilton Island
The Great Barrier Feast was an annual event which develeoped into a culinary who's who. The event featured talent as diverse as Vue De Monde's Shannon Bennett, Christine Manfield from London's East@West, Curtis 'Surfing the Menu' Stone, New York chocolatier & pastry chef Nick Malgieri, Philippe Mouchel from 'the brasserie by philippe mouchel' at Crown and Stefano Manfredi of Espresso di Manfredi and Manta fame regularly featured. Add to them, the likes of event host Len Evans AO OBE, Wine Master Toni Patterson, Winemaker James Godfrey, Flair Bartender Hayden Wood and M.C. Channel Nine's own Geoff Jansz and you can see where the list is going ! Guests had an opportunity to wine & dine on the beach or overlooking the swaying boats in the marina, sip some of the world's finest Champagnes at the annual Les Grandes Marques, learn new and wonderful food and wine facts at masterclasses, get to meet the chefs and winemakers up close and personal and even spend time relaxing by a pool - heavenly !

Melbourne Waterfront Seafood and Wine Festival 2004
Music at the Trident Seafood and Wine festival 2002 The Melbourne Waterfront Seafood Festival is brought to the Docklands by Tourism Synergy, the clever people who organised the very successful Trident Seafood Festival which attracts over 15,000 seafood loving visitors. The Festival's home is beside Shed 14, and juts out across Victoria Harbour at Docklands, opposite the New Quay restaurants. It's the perfect backdrop for a Seafood Festival. Exhibitors include fishmongers, restaurateurs, vineyards and boutique food producers. There's food to sample and meals to buy. Wine glasses may be purchased for either tastings, or for wine by the glass with lunch. There will be both tiny boutique wineries and also the larger well known names on the day.

Spring at Fresh Life Centre 2003
Virginia Hellier Consulting created a program of celebrity chef cooking demonstrations called Spring at Fresh Life as part of the publicity program for the Fresh Life precinct at Victoria Gardens Shopping Centre, Richmond.

Winter Wonderland at Australia on Collins 2002
Virginia Hellier consulting created and developed the Winter Wonderland event for Australia on Collins as a feature event on their promotional calendar.

The Taste of Victoria festival 1998-2001
Hellier Consulting served as P.R. and publicists for this major Victorian food event. Helliers also created and carried out the promotional strategy for this major Victorian food and wine festival from February 1998 when it was held at The Mansion at Werribee Park, Victoria. We attained a large amount of free editorial publicity, with the visitor numbers jumping from 8000 in 1997 to 27,000 in 1998, and up to 30,000 in the year 2000. Taste of Victoria moved to Flemington Racecourse in 2001.

Geoff Jansz at Myer for Fathers' Day
Hellier Consulting created and promoted the Fathers' Day Myer event across Victoria for guest chef Geoff Jansz.

Myer Electric Grand Opening
Geoff Jansz We consulted to Myer management regarding the setting up of the new Celebrity Chefs Kitchen within Myer Electric. We created a three month promotion marketing the celebrity chef classes featuring 'top of the range' international and Australian chefs including Geoff Jansz, Gabriel Gate, Beverley Sutherland Smith, Charmaine Solomon, Chedi Bali's chef, Mexico's Puerto Villa chefs and thirty other top Australian chefs and celebrity chefs.

Lamborghini Diablo 2000
Lamborghini Hellier Consulting created the launch event for the 2000 Australian Launch of Lamborghini Diablo at Cavalli Restaurant and Showroom. This launch was two fold as both the car and also the property were featured.

Tourism Tasmania - Taste of Tasmania
Hellier Consulting created a total marketing strategy for Tourism Tasmania for the 1997 Discover the Taste of Tasmania Expo. This included the statewide launch and a marketing strategy using ten of Victoria's award-winning restaurants, plus the Sofitel Hotel and the Sheraton Towers Southgate. Hellier Consulting also broadened the tourism expo by involving the Myer 'Wonderful World of Food'. The pre publicity for this event alone saw the number of visitors to the expo rise by 150% from the 1996 event.

Port to Port Festival
The City of Port Melbourne retained our services to create the food and hospitality component of the annual Port Melbourne Festival. Helliers created "Port to Port" linking Devonport in Tasmania with Port Melbourne in Victoria. Both of these seaports are linked by the Spirit of Tasmania. Hellier Consulting representatives travelled to Devonport to source produce and growers for this Festival to ensure the quality of the food component, and instigated a highly successful event which attracted 20,000 people, a much greater number than expected.

Harvesting Vegetables Werribee Vegetable Growers Association
Hellier Consulting liaised with the Werribee Vegetable Growers Committee to assist them in creating their biannual trade expo which attracted over ten thousand trade participants from around Australia and New Zealand. This field event generated a wide range of free editorial publicity within the farming and agricultural trade publications.

Greek Consulate Trade Dinner
Hellier Consulting created and promoted a media dinner for the Greek Consul-General, and delivered a substantial speech on the history of Greek food. We also consulted to the Consulate on a possible long term strategy for Greek olive oils.

Edmund Barton Centre 'The Regional Experience'
Hellier Consulting were retained to promote the inaugural 'Regional Experience' in October 2001. This will be a quarterly event including a six week wine series hosted by Robert Hicks, a regional expo featuring a specific Australian area's produce and products, and culminating in a grand dinner for 150 guests featuring the food and wines of that specific region.

AGL Young Chefs Culinary Awards
In 1998 and 1999 Hellier Consulting oversaw all media contacts and ensured statewide and national coverage of these Awards in both electronic and print media, covering the whole of the State of New South Wales with over 200 scholastic venues involved by Helliers. The project spanned 2 years.

Cheese display 'Say Cheese' Festival, Victoria
Hellier Consulting created and underwrote the State-wide cheese festival sponsored by the Australian Dairy Corporation to bring cheese from all across the state to the general public, through events in department stores, markets, shopping centres, supermarkets and restaurants. The Festival was also taken to country areas including Echuca where prize jersey cows were herded by whip flicking stockmen along the main street in a scene straight from The Man from Snowy River. Included in "Say Cheese" was a very glamorous launch at Myer where we had 'Miss Mouse and the Cheesettes' sing specially written songs about cheese. This was a great hit. Hellier Consulting also worked on a charity dinner for the Australian Ballet School with Lady Potter at Jacques Reymond. Fuji Film sponsored a "Say Cheese" photo competition with the Herald Sun that attracted over 500 photos. This was all part of the "Say Cheese" Festival.

ADC cheese platter Australian Dairy Corporation
Hellier Consulting promoted and organised media attendance at the Australian Dairy Corporation's major annual event, 'A Night Of Dairy Classics', at the National Gallery of Victoria and were able to have over 50 press in attendance. We also arranged for two well-known food personalities to judge the best stand.

Three Hat Chef Dinners - Lillian Frank committee for Odessey House & Royal Children's Hospital
Hellier Consulting created the first four annual 'Three Hat Chefs' dinners, organizing all chefs, promotion and liaising with the committee, Lillian Frank and committee members.

Rolls Royce Twenty Ghost Club
With Scotchman's Hill Winery and The Vue Grand Hotel, Hellier Consulting organised the Twenty Ghost Club to do a grand tour of the Bellarine Peninsula and display at both venues of the vintage cars.
